Headshot information and prices
(and a few comments from people I've worked with)

Naturally the goal is to make your modeling or casting agent happy
by capturing looks that are interesting and appealing. Commercial model
Carly (above) took her new comp card to LA and within a month she landed
gigs with both Shape Magazine and Esquire.

For actors, we'll want to capture the real you. You'll know it when
you see it.

Improv actor Michelle (above) sent me the following email right after the shoot....
"My audition went well. I'm still waiting for the phone call, but the agent told me that it would be a waste for her to promote me only as an actress and not a model as well. So it sounds like I'm in!
She was also thrilled with my headshots, and she said she usually doesn't like outdoor shots, but the lighting was perfect. She was also surprised to hear I just had them done on Sunday, she was surprised with the turnaround. Me too.
Thanks again for making this such a great experience. Once I become
a diva, I'll have to demand 12 bottles of evian to wash my hair and
Roger Steen at every photo shoot."
Headshot Pricing
Basic headshot session (approx. 1.5 hours) --$300 plus tax
Expanded headshot session (approx. 3 hours) --$400 plus tax
Extreme headshot session (minimum 1/2 day) -- $600 plus tax
We suggest, if possible, planning for a three hour shoot for modeling, if the goal is three different looks and a variety of pictures for your comp card. Actor shoots can often be accomplished more quickly. The "extreme" headshot session includes traditional in-studio pictures, but also includes an additional photo session in an interesting location using creative lighting techniques. With your collaboration we can turn it into a bit of a fashion shoot. Time allowances are approximate. As you might expect, the longer we spend shooting, the larger the number of interesting photographs you'll end up with. Some expressions are always more appealing than others.
Minor touch-up/airbrush/skin-smoothing is included, if necessary, on those pictures that we call "photographer selects" -- the photographs from your shoot that we feel are the most compelling. We'll also give you black & white versions of those shots, so you can choose. Additional touch-up work is $35 per photograph. For model shoots, a make-up stylist is recommended, because a good stylist can not only apply the right make-up, but also monitor hair and clothing details throughout the shoot.
Within three days after the shoot we'll mail you a cd with jpegs sized
for emailing, plus the "negative" files you'll need to get
your 8x10 prints (You'll also get the names of some online companies
that supply prints which you can order using your web browser).
By the way, feel free to bring a cd or your iPod to the session.
About professional hair and make-up....
Professional make-up for modeling portraits can be provided (by an independent stylist) starting at $150. Why is it a good idea to pay for a stylist? The camera won't overlook an application of lipstick that isn't perfect. But a stylist is also very helpful during the shoot, because often a piece of clothing -- or some flyaway hair -- needs a bit of adjustment. If everything is just right when the pictures are captured you'll end up with a larger and better selection of photographs.
After-the-shoot Comments....
Here are a few blurbs from emails we've received after the actor or model has seen their photographs:
